The Lord is with Us

The Lord is With us….

Genesis 39: 21-23 But the Lord was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.22 And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph's hand all the prisoners that were in the prison; and whatsoever they did there, he was the doer of it.23 The keeper of the prison looked not to anything that was under his hand; because the Lord was with him, and that which he did, the Lord made it to prosper.

We often take for granted the times the Lord is with us. Recall the job you received which you were not qualified to do. Think over the blessings you received that you had nothing to do with. What about the times you were wrong, but God covered it. We do not like to look back at our wrongs, our sins, the times we have damaged others and God made a way for us to escape. We choose to remember all the times that we’ve been wronged by others. Where is the demand for justice when we have come short…

God loves us so much, he covers and keep us. The above scriptures speak of Joseph and how God kept his hands on him through the betrayal of his brothers and the deceit of Potifar’s wife. Even in prison, God is there providing grace, mercy and favor. Joseph did not deserve the things that happened to him.

Unfortunately, we do deserve some of our calamities. But the same way that God was with Joseph, He is with us every step of the way. The same favor, grace and mercy bestowed to Joseph has been extended to us all. If we choose to accept it. This is in no way a permission to sin and live a life out of God’s will, but it is saying that if you have, you can come back home. God loves you. You cannot get so low that He will not extend His love to you. The reason that the devil has not destroyed you is because the Lord has been with you. Come home now! The Lord is with us…
